Hello, When visiting China, how far ahead must we book train tickets for two people? Thank you.

Generally 3-5 days, earlier in holidays if you would go to Beijing, Shanghai, those popular cities. If low season, or tickets for D or G trains, generally no problem for buy at the same day. To those popular cities, still need to buy 3 days in advance to assure a sleeper ticket.
