buses going from Nanning to Hanoi or Halong Bay, Vietnam

Panning to exit from Nanning to Vietnam. I heard that there are buses going to Hanoi or Halong Bay. Which city bus offers a better transport and where do I get the tickets? Also, is there a nice hostel I can stay overnight in Nanning that is close to the bus station? THanks.
