US citizen working in Afghanistan taking vacation in China. What is the best way to get the China Tourist visa?

If you work in Afghanistan, you can apply for a China tourist visa from China Embassy in Afghanistan, in Kabul, providing your passport, application form for China visa application, photo, and sometimes, return ticket and hotel bookings and travel itinerary are required.
