Since it is early Autumn, are we are to see the changing of colours, is it too early?  If yes, I will be very disappointed because I have never got the chance to see colourful Autumn.

Feel puzzled! Will you go to Harbin in early September or August?  In early September, it is cool and sunny in Harbin, and there is the possible to enjoy the colorful autumn there. In early August, it will be hot and rainy, and too early to see the autumn scenery.
