guangzhou to hengyang

Question

I understand that it is fastest to take the high speed train from Guangzhou South Satation to Hengyang.  But I saw that it goes to Hengyang East.  Is that different from Hengyang?  How do I get to Guangzhou South Station from the Guangzhou International Airport?  Can I get the train ticket easily on the travelling day itself?  I will be going on a weekday next week.

Hengyang East and Hengyang are two different stations. It takes about 20-minute driving to downtown center. Not far!From Guangzhou International Airport, you could take subway Line 1 to Guangzhou Railway Station and then transfer to subway Line 2 to Guangzhou South Railway Station.
