I am English ,have Uk Passport ,live and work in Almeria Spain .can i apply online for visa ? or only by going to Madrid? and do i have to arrange the flights etc before applying for visa thank youPhil Reynolds

You have to go personally for the visa or ask for somebody to help you get it, but you can not apply it online.  You need to arrange the flights and get the flights tickets before applying for visa.
