taxi from taiyuan airport to pingyao old city?

We are flying in from Hangzhou to Taiyuan and need to get to Pingyao as soon as we land at the airport around 5pm. Can we easily catch a taxi at the airport to go direct to Pingyao old city? How much is the cost? We don't want to wait around for the train or for the long-distance bus.

You may catch a taxi from Taiyuan airport to Pingyao, but the taxi fare will be exoensive and it is not advisable. You can catch a taxi from the airport to Jiannan Long-distance Bus STation in Taiyuan and then take bus from there to Pingyao. The bus operates till 20:00 frequently. No need to wait for a long time.
