About:Chinese Embassy in Argentina

I am going to China in August. If I have a Single Entry visa and my flight connects thru Shanghai

International Airport to Hong Kong. I change flights on Cathay Pacific to go to Hong Kong. Does that count as a Single Entry in the Shanghai Airport? I was planning to visit Shanghai on the last few days of my trip to Asia and use my Single Entry Visa then. Also does visiting Hong Kong require a Chinese visa? (I have an American passport).

Do you mean to visit HK frist with a flight via Shanghai? then, visit China with your single entry visa? If yes, it is ok if your transit in Shanghai is for less than 48 hours, show your ticket to HK. American passport holders are not required visa to Hong Kong for 90 days.
