About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Is it a problem getting Residency Permit if I first stay in a hotel while finding a permanent villa?

I am planning to stay in a hotel/apartment for first 2 months in Shanghai while I find where I want to live for the rest of my 3 year assignment. If my reservation at the hotel is only for 2 months, will I have a problem getting the Residency Permit processed when I first arrive and don't have my long term lease signed yet?

I don't think it is a problem to get the Residence Permit when you arrive in Shanghai because you have the accommodation in a hotel/apartment for 2 months.
