Maybe the West Lake area or Wulin Square area is suitable for you. It is at the City center area where the transportation is very convenient.

A hotel in the area of Wushan Square should be nice and a little cheaper. It is located in walking distance to the West Lake, the main scenic spot of Hangzhou. The ancient Qinghe Fang street is also here. Besides, it is easy access to shopping and dining area as well as Hangzhou Railway Station. Alternatively, a hotel located on the bank of the West Lake could give you the best view.
