About:Chinese Embassy in Lebanon

What do i need to apply for a visa to Shanghai?

Hi,what do i need to apply for a visa to Shanghai,I'm a New Zealand Passport holder residing in Lebanon at present. Usually I obtain my visa on the border of hong kong to enter china.
for me to go straight to changai from lebanon do i need to apply for a visa or i can get it from the airport there? what document do i need ?how long dos the proceess takes ?
can you please help .

You need to apply for a China visa in advance through Chinese embassy in Lebanon. What you need are 1. your actual passport of more than six months validity with a blank visa page;
2. One completely-filled application form (The People's Republic of China Visa Application Form) with one recent passport size photo.
3. One invitation letter if for business purpose.
For tourism, you may need to show a bank account statement (more than6,000 US Dollars) or hotel reservation information or a photocopy of the actual airline ticket to China.
General processing takes four working days, Express/Special Express is available only with the approval of the consular official and additional rush service fees will be charged.
