Getting an L visa in France with a US passport

I'm leaving China and going to France for the summer. My current Chinese L visa will expire while I'm away. Will I be able to get an extension or renew my visa in France as a US citizen?

yes, you are able to get a new China visa in France as a US citizen, you need to provide your passport, completed visa application forms V.2011A and V.2011B, one passport photo, the entry record to France.
