how many watchtowers does the grewat wall of china have?

There is no exact record for this. Most of the watchtowers were destroyed along with the walls because of wars and natural reasons. There are 43 towers on Badaling Great Wall, over 100 on Jinshanling, about 26 on Mutianyu, 35 on Simatai.
