About:Handshaking in China

what about other non verbal greetings?

Hi,
Are there other non verbal greetings in Chinese, such as kisses in France for example?
Do chinese people bow? what is a really respectful way of greeting a Chinese person?
Are you allowed to make eye-contact or to touch each other?
Thanks!
Pauline

No kisses like in France. No bow now, for this is a old way and no body do it now. For people who meet at the first time, they just shake hands. Eye-contact is a must for that represent respect, however no hug and no kisses.

When in a class in PRC, you must always bow to the teacher. The angle of your bow depends on the level of respect you have for the teacher
