when was the great wall of china built and when was it done being built?

It is said that there are 20 vassel states and dynasties in Chinese history once built the wall. Qin Shi Huang first linked the walls together. After that, Han, Sui, Ming dynasties all mended and extended the wall. Ming will be the last.
