What kind of visa do I need to visit HK and Guangzhou for a week?

I am a US citizen working in Singapore, going to Hong Kong &Guangzhou for a week in July. What kind of visa do I need?

US citizens are not required visa to HK if you stay there for less than 90 days. So a single entry China visa is enough if you will enter China mainland once. Your visa application can be done either through Chinese embassy in Singapore or CVASC, and make sure to make an appointment before hand via their website.
