Can I apply outside my country of residence?

Good day,
I am a South African currently in Prague and I would like to travel to China on a tourist visa in about a month. Can I apply for a Chinese visa here or do I need to go back home first?

If you don't reside or work in Czech Republic, I'm afraid that your application will be denied. You have to return to South Africa to apply for China visa. Generally speaking, temporary visitors to a country should apply for China visa in their home country.
