Chengdu to Leshan Buddha

Hi, I will be going to Leshan Giant Buddha from Chengdu by train. It is better to take train to Leshan Station or E-Mei Station? After which how do I make my way to Leshan Giant Buddha? Also, may I know the cost?

And how long does it take to tour Leshan Buddha? Is it possible if I go Leshan in the morning, tour Leshan and go back Chengdu in the evening? Thank you!

Better to go to Leshan Station. I think the best way is to take bus, for there is bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Coach Station to the Giant Buddha Scenic Area directly. The cost is about 35RMB and 2 hours's journey. There is only one train at 7am from Chengdu and it takes nearly 3 hours. The train ticket is 16RMB. It is possible to get back to Chengdu the same day.

Thank you for the advice. So how long do you reckon I need to tour Leshan Giant Buddha?

Also, for the bus journey it takes 2hrs only? Then for the trip back to Chengdu, bus is preferred too? The tickets can it be bought at Giant Buddha Scenic Area?

Thank you

Hi.I think 3-4 hours are enough to tour the buddha. Yes, the bus journey costs 2 hours only, because there is express way. One hour on the expressway, I think 2 hours are enough including the time spent in the city area. The ticket can be bought in the bus station beside the scenic area, where you get off if you take direct bus from Chengdu.
