To attend conference in China, you need to apply for a business visa (F). Beside the basic requirements for visa application, such as passport, application form and photo, you need an invitation letter from China- organizer of the conference or authorized unit. Machine Readable Passport is ok and you need to submit together with what required for China visa application.
