Forbidden hotel to Badaling or Mutianyu which one is nearer and how to go?

Take Subway Line 1 - Line 2 to reach Xizhimen. Then Walk to Beijing North Railway Station to take trains to Badaling. Or get off at Jishuitan Station to look for 919 bus to Badaling just behind the Deshengmen Arrow Gate. It takes one hours or so. Mutianyu is a bit farther. You can take subway Line 1 to Line 2 and get off at Dongzhimen Station. Out from Exit B and walk to the transportation hub in Dongzhimen Waixijie. There is bus 936 directly to Mutianyu in the morning, around 8pm. If you miss the direct bus, you should take those buses to Qingchun Lu Beikou, Huairou. Then take taxi, rented car to Mutianyu.
