About:China Visa Application Requirements

I am a USA citizen working in China. My Filipina wife came here on a spousal visa but left because of a family emergency before she could get the multi entry permit.

She wants to come back but she needs a new inivitation letter and my employer says they can only give one letter of iniviation a year- true or BS?

It is true, it is hard to get offical invitation letter for spouse of Z visa holders in China from Foreign Affairs Office, your wife should wait for the issuance of Temporary Residence Permit, which can be used as a multiple entry visa.
