About:China Customs Declaration

I am traveling to China in a few weeks. I bought a few necklaces/bracelets/earring sets for my friend's family members. They are hand made bead and stone sets. There isn't any metals like gold or silver or expensive stones. Will I have have to declare them and if so how do they factor in there value to tax them?
