About:China Transit Visa

Hi,

I am a British Citizen flying to Los angeles via china. I am flying with Air China who have booked me accommodation as i have a long stop overnight (less than 24hrs). This accommodation may be outside the airport therefore do i need a transit visa if i prove my onward journey?

In principal, you need a transit visa if you exit the airport, but there is another option, you can apply for one day stay permit at the airport, then go to the hotel outside the airport.
