About:Mutianyu Great Wall

Hi.
We will be in Beijing this Saturday (April 16th) and Sunday (17th)
There are two of us and we are planning on visiting the Mutianyu section of the great wall. We are hoping to visit it on the Saturday and the earliest we can depart will be late morning/early afternoon

My question is as we are short on time, how easy is to get there by bus and how do we get it? how long will it take? and also do you think we will have time to visit there in one afternoon? Finally is it easy to get the bus back too?

We are staying in The Dong-Cheng district of Beijing. I would be very grateful of any help.

Thanks

The easiest way is to take direct 936 bus to Mutianyu from Dongzhimen traffic hub, but only available in early morning. If you go in late morning or afternoon, you should take 936 bus to Huairou first and then hire a taxi to Mutianyu. You will spend 2 hours or so on the way. Then at least 3-4 hours to climb the wall. I dont think it is enough to visit there in one afternoon. The direct 936 bus back to the city at 16:00. Other buses are still available at 7-8pm.
