About:Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles

Dear Sir/Madam
I am so confused about the date on the visa, I like to have it clarified by
you.
if the date on my visa to China says it expires May 1, 2011, what does it
mean?
(1) Does it mean that I have to enter China on or before May 1, 2011, then
the Cumstoms will grant the time I can stay in China (3 months until August
1 if I enter China on May 1 for example), is that right?
(2) I have to exit China on or before May 1, 2011 no matter what since my
visa expires on that day, I hope this is not right.

To my understanding, I think (1) is right, I just want to make sure of that,
so I won't have any problem if I go to China on May 1.

Best Regards,
Mike

Validity (as enter before) of a visa is the length of period that the visa is good for, namely from the issuing date to the deadline of entering China. You can enter China at anytime before 12:00am on the expiring date. So, (1) is right as your understanding.

Dear Ms. ENID
Thank you so much for your prompt reply, I really appreciate your help on this. I have one more questions, are you associated with the Visa office or Foreign Affair Administration, so you know this, or you know this of your own knowledge or your experience?

Thanks again
Mike
