About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

Hi!

I'm a Finnish University student coming to work in Toronto for the summer. I've also applied for an exchange semester in Tongji University in Shanghai for the autumn. I'm quite positive that I will be chosen for the exchange as it is a bilateral arrangement with my home university, which has already chosen me.

When I get the confirmation from Tongji University in June, I'll naturally have to apply for a student visa. If I get the proper documents sent to Toronto, will I be able to apply for the visa there?

Firstly, a single entry China visa is valid for 3 months since issue date, you can apply in advance if your stay in Toronto is not longer than 3 months. And if not, you can still apply for a China visa from Chinese consulate in Toronto. In addition, your visa type should be F if your study in China is less than 6 months.
