HI,
My son will be in Beijing next week.Can he pay at shops, restaurants,etc,with us dollars?And on bus, subway,taxi,can he pay with credit card?

You'd better exchange some RMB cash, since some shops and restaurants only accept RMB cash. For taxi, you need to prepare RMB cash. And for the bus or subway, you can pay by RMB or Bus Pass and MetroCard.
