I live here, trust me you don't want to know how hot it is. I arrived in Nanchang back in July 2009 and I thought I was in a dessert. It was around 35-40+ C. I went home in July 2010 and came back around August 2010, and its still the same weather. And I will be stuck here again this summer, best place to stay is in your home with the AC on!
There are some night market I heard around Bayi Square that you can explore. There's not much choose of cuisine here except one Italian & French restaurants, 2 Thai restaurants, 1 Tepanyaki/Japanese Cuisine at Peninsula hotel, 1 Brazilian restaurant at Crown hotel, some Korean/Japanese cuisines, and the rest are all Chinese. Nanchang is only famous for their Nanchang stir-fried noodles which is good. The rest is for you to find out ; )
