I'll take a trip to Nanjing with my husband this June; do you have any suggestions for me? Should I live a hotel in the city center? Is it convenient for us to take a train to close by cities? what are those cities that you will recommend? What are the best and smart ways to travel in Nanjing?

You would better choose to stay at a hotel in the city center where the transportation is more convenient. And train station is around 10km from the city centre. You can visit the nearby cities like Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai and etc. since high-speed trains are operating between these cities.
