About:China Visa Application in USA

I will give lectures in China for 4 days in May, and then I will return to the USA, so I will be applying for a business visa. However, there is a chance I will be able to return to China again some time during the next year. May I apply for a multiple entry visa? Or because I have an invitation for only one visit should I apply only for a single entry visa? I would like not to have to pay the visa fees twice if I get the chance to return. Thanks.

You can try to apply for multiple entry business visa, but I'm afraid that you can't get it because you have an invitation letter for only one visit. Now, USA nationals are not easy to get a multiple entry visa to China.
