About:China Embassy in Thailand

Hi there,

I am a UK citizen, currently travelling through Vietnam and Thailand, planning to start work in Shenzhen in May. I currrently hold a dual entry tourist visa for China, will I be able to change this for a business visa in Bangkok, or do I have to go back to the UK?

Many thanks,

Colin

You can't change your dual-entry tourist visa into Business visa in Bangkok, but you can apply for a new business visa in Bangkok if all requirements for business visa are prepared.

You should apply for work visa to work in Shenzhen in May, why do you apply for business visa?

Thanks Tom,

I have been offered a job in Shenzhen, starting on May 1st. I came out to see the area on a tourist visa, then went to Vietnam while the offer was firmed up. Now it is in place, I need a business visa to start work there.

So I can apply for the business visa in Bangkok?

Thanks again, Colin

You can apply for a work visa, Mr.Colin Smith. If you get documents from China, you can apply for a work visa directly and it is better for you. Business visa is with less duration in China and it is issued to applicants who will stay in China for less than 6 months.
