About:China Embassy in Thailand

My friend wants to fly standby from Shanghai to LAX on an American Airlines guest pass. She is a Thai citizen who is a US permanent resident. Does she need a Chinese visa to fly from Bangkok to Shanghai? She will buy that ticket. Thank you.

If she remains in the Shanghai airport for less than 24 hours, a Chinese transit visa is not required. Just show her connecting flight tickets and US green card if she passes the immigration of Shanghai Pudong airport or Hongqiao airport.
