About:China Tourist Visa

I'm currently a student studying in US. And, I'm planning to visit China for 5 days while waiting the next transit plane(travelling alone). Do I have to apply for tourist visa or just transit visa?
Does a single entering and leaving consider single entry to China ?
Also, are the fees for both visas(L & G) same if I apply for the same number of entry?

Thank you so much for the help.

You have to apply for tourist visa, a single entering and leaving is considered as a single entry to China. The fees for both visas (L & G) are same if you apply for the same number of entry visa.
