About:China Visa Application Requirements

i am studying in the uk with a resident permit but holding a Malawian passport. i will be travelling to china in july 2011 to see my sister (a student) who is studying their for about 3 weeks.
just wanted to inquire apart from the documents mentioned on the website.
do i need to show a bank statement as proof that i have funds? since i will be staying at my sisters apartment.

Yes, you'd better show a bank statement to prove that you have funds to support yourself. The invitation letter from your sister, the copy of her Malaysia passport and Chinese residence permit or student visa are also required.
