About:Shangri-La Attractions

There are 8 of us on our own going to Yunnan in October. Excluding time on road, 3 days at Shangrila should be enough I guess. We'll be spending a night at Kunming on arrival and the next morning proceed on road to Dali for 2 nights before going to Lijiang where perhaps we have to spend at least 3 nights. What do you experienced visitors recommend? After Shangril, we will head back to Kunming for another night before going to the Redlands. Then on our return to Kunming, we will spend a few more nights. Dates 12 to 26 October. Do we need to book accommodation in advance?

I recommend you make your itineraries according to this: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/tour/yunnan/
For the accommodation, I advise you book it in advance if you plan to travel privately.

I have no idea if you join in a tour but if not, it is necessary to hire a van from Lijiang to Shangri-la. It may rain and it has been very cool in October. Temperature falls a lot at night. So, bring some warm clothes. How you have nice time. It is beautiful there.
