I will be travelling to Beijing Oct 31, then to HK Oct 31, then to Vancouver Nov 11 via Beijing.  Do I need a single or double entra visa?

If you just transit Beijing Capital Airport for less than 24 hours and you won't leave the airport, you don't need a visa, otherwise, you need a double entry visa.
