About:Zhangjiajie Scenic Spot

Hi
After the 3 Gorges cruise, I plan to take the train from Yichang to Zhangjiajie. I understand that the cruise ship would arrive before 1200 hrs whereas the train departs from Yichang at 1300 hrs. The cruise agent tells me that the ship I am planning to choose will arrive at taohuacun pier, (Peach blossom pier) which is quite far from the train station.
My concern is whether there will be enough time disembarking from the ship, finding a taxi, getting to the train station, finding the ticket counter, queuing and buying the ticket and getting on board the train, all within 1 hour and with practically most of the passengers doing the same thing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also would it be possible to buy the train ticket in advance from say, Chongqing?

Yes, Yichang Railway Station is far from the pier. It takes about 1 hour from the Pier to Yichang city, and then takes about 20-30minutes to the railway station by taxi. Thus, it's impossible for you to take the train within one hour even if you get th tickets in advance.

Thanks, Bruce, for your useful comments. I have decided to leave the cruise vessel at the Yangtze Dam, 1 stop before Yichang, and have booked a taxi to Yichang plus getting the train ticket in advance. Hope this works
Cheers
