About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Hi, I have been trying to get some info. about getting into HongKong,
I hope you are able to help me out with it.
I hold a Malaysian passport and a Canadien Permenant resident card,
I'm travelling to Malaysia next week and I have to wait one night in HongKong to change my flights,(my original trip was to stop in Tokyo for a week, but now I'm advised not to go there since the March 11th tragic incident.)
so mean time transiting in HK, I would like to visit Hong Kong for a four days,
do you think I can enter Hong Kong if my passport is expiring in less than 6 months?
my passport will be expiring in 4 months and I will be renewing it when I get to Malaysia. I'm leaving on April 1st, so I don't have time to renew my passport here in Canada, I'll have to do it when I get to Malaysia.

Really hope you can help me with this question,
because I need to confirm my flights and hotels with this information.
Thank you so much for your time!
Have a nice day!

Yes, you can enter Hong Kong if your passport is expiring in 4 months. Malaysian nationals don't need a visa to Hong Kong, a passport with one month validity beyond the stay duration in Hong Kong is accepted by HK immigration official.
