How long is the train ride from Beijing to Shanghai, I heard it is much shorter than it used to be... thanks. – Meilin

At present, the fastest trains from Beijing to Shanghai are bullet trains, which cost around 10hrs. It is said that the high speed trains on Beijing-Shanghai route will be available before the end of the year 2011. And in that case, it just takes about 4hrs.
