Question

I have read that there are minibuses outside of the train station in Datong that travel to Beijing.  How late do these minibuses run? After 5PM?  Is it possible to hire the minibus for private trip back to Beijing for a group of 5?  I'm concerned that we will not be able to make the last train at 4:30PM after our tour.  Thank you.

Not very sure about the minibus from Datong to Beijing. However, the last train, 1134/1135, will leave from Datong at 23:25 and arrive in Beijing at 05:20 the next day. You could search the train schedule at https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/
