About:China Embassy in Thailand

I am writing to find out the way I have to apply for a Chinese visa.
I am planning to travel 1-16 June. I am attending the Asia for Animals Conference in Chengdu but beforehand I would like to visit a friend in Shanghai.

I am a Hungarian citizen, live and work in Phuket, Thailand. I would like to know what type of visa I need to apply for and if I can apply in Phuket. Also how long it takes and how much it cost to receive the visa and what documents do I need to take with me?

Thank you very much for your help and looking forward to hearing from you
Regards

You need to apply for a business visa to China for this conference. If you work in Phuket, Thailand now, you can and are required to apply for a China visa from Consulate General of China in Songkhla. The general processing takes 4 working days, and fee is THB 1,100 for single entry. The documents are your original passport, invitation letter from China, the organizer of the conference or else, application form and photo, if necessary, you may need to provide round-trip ticket and hotekl bookings in China.
