what were some of the main acheivements of the tang and son dynasties?

I would like to say the achievement in literature. These two dynasties can be regarded as the most properious periods, especially Tang which is an open and blooming era. We usually say Tang poem and Song lyrics together. They are the most wellknown types of literature we know about ancient China.
