About:China Transit Visa

I have a Canadian Passport. I will be returning to Canada from Vietnam via Beijing. I have a 16 hour stopover and would like to leave the airport. Do I require a visa? It looks like I can have a TWOV(transit without visa) if my stay is less than 48hours. Thank you.

If you want to leave the airportin Beijing, you are required to apply for a visa in advance, either a transit visa or a tourist visa is ok. 48-hour visa exemption is the case you transit in Shanghai only.
