what role did confucianism play in china during the Han dynasty?

During early Han Dyasnty, Taoism played the dominate role which helped created the blooming during Emprors Wendi and Jingdi. Since Han Wudi, confucianisn gradually took place of Taoism, becoming the dominate ideaology.
