About:Getting to Urumqi

I am arranging a flight between Dushanbe and Xian via Urumqi. I would like to see a little of the city. If there is a four hour layover, is it reasonable to take a taxi and see some of Urumqi or will the traffic be too bad?

The Urumqi airport is far from downtown area, so it is suggested that you stay at the airport during the four hour.
