Question

I am leaving my contract early and they want to end/cancel my Z visa. Do I have do get a tourist visa for 2 days or is there a a grace period that I can just leave the country?

If your employer can't get your passport, it is impossible for him to cancel your Z visa at Public Security Bureau. Even though he will cancel your visa, the PSB will issue a 10 days tourist visa, which can be regarded as a grace period to leave the country.
