About:Chinese Consulate in Sydney

i am flying with air china and have a 14 hr stopover in beijing on my way to stockholm, will i require some sort of transit visa if i wish to leave the airport?

Yes, you need a transit visa if you wish to leave the airport, you can also try to apply for one day stay permit at Beijing airport if you have not gotten a transit visa.
