Dear Sir,

I want to apply for business visa for 3 months, single entry, longest stay of 90 days. I wanted to know whether the 3 months, single entry-business visa is limited for a stay of 30 days?

Also I wanted to know whether my spouse can be eligible to get the similar visa for 3 months,single entry,longest stay of 90 days visa (tourist or business) provided the marriage certificate, my bank account statement and confirmed flight tickets along with the visa application and covering letter.

Dear Johnnash,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the Chinese municipal office in Shanghai did not issued invitation letter for a longer stay of 90 days for 3 months, single entry-Business visa, instead I can stay for a maximum of 30 days. I have not traveled to China previously and I do not have previous record of travel to china.

What kind of visa category should I apply to get 3 months continuous stay in China?

Also, if I travel to china with 30 days stay business visa whether I can extend my stay to 2 months after reaching there.

Mr.Kailas, You can first hold a 3 months single entry F visa with 30 days stay duration to enter Shanghai, when F visa will expires in a week, please go to Exit-Entry Administrative Bureau of Shanghai Public Security Bureau to apply for a visa extension. But you can't get 2 months extension of stay duration, I guess you can get 10 days visa extension. If you can get an invitation letter issued by Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office or other government office which wrriten that you need to stay in Shanghai for another 30 or 60 days, then you can get 1 or 2 months visa extension.

Duration of each stay is granted on a case by case basis at the discretion of consular officers in accordance with relevant guidelines, 3 months, single entry business visa is not limited for a stay of 30 days. Generally speaking, if the official invitation letter issued by a duly authorized Chinese organization in China prescribes that you need to stay in China for 90 days, you can get it.

Your spouse is eligible to get the similar visa as you.
