In ancient times, Chinese people washed the cocoons to get silk and the bamboo strips were used when washing these cocoons. As time passing by, a fibre slice would be formed on the bamboo strips, which was found could be written characters on. That is the known earliest paper. Later, Cai Lun improved the way of making paper. After that, paper began to be widely used.
