About:Former Residence of Lu Shaoxu

I currently hold a resident permit because I am a teacher in Changsha, Hunan, China. My permit expires on June 30, 2011. However, I want to stay an extra month and travel so I would fly out of Shanghai on August 6th, so a standard 30 day tourist visa wouldn't be long enough. Can I apply for a 45, 60, or 90 day visa inside of China? Or can I get an extension to my residence permit somehow? The visa situations are very confusing for me!

Thank you!
Tony Wong

You can try to apply for a 45 days visa at the Exit & Enter Division of Changsha Public Security Bureau. But the final decision is up to the visa officer. You can't get an extension of your residence permit if you won't teach in China. You can renew your residence permit if will work in Changsha

Thank you for the reply! Is it possible to ask for a 60 day visa as well? Or is 45 days the limit?

You can fill thw application form with your request for 60 days or more, but visa officers are empowered to make the final decision. So, good luck.
